Writing a resume for Workday
Workday does not read a document the way other systems do. Here is what it expects, and what we change when you pick it.
What matters here
- Workday pre-fills its application form from the parsed document, and the candidate has to correct anything it gets wrong. Keep company, title and dates unambiguous and on their own line.
- One job title per role. Do not merge a promotion into a single entry — split it into two entries under the same employer so the history maps cleanly onto Workday's job rows.
- Workday indexes a skills list well. Keep it explicit rather than relying on skills being inferred from bullets.

How to tell if an employer uses it
Look at the address bar when you start the application. The system is almost always named in the URL — myworkdayjobs.com, greenhouse.io, taleo.net, jobs.lever.co, icims.com. If you can't tell, leave the setting alone and the general defaults will carry you.
